Hampton Destination Trailer FAQs
Is the Hampton a Keystone product?
Not exactly. The Hampton is built by CrossRoads RV, which is part of the Keystone RV family under Thor Industries. So while CrossRoads and Keystone share a corporate family, the Hampton is a CrossRoads-designed and CrossRoads-built unit — it’s correct to call it the CrossRoads Hampton, not the Keystone Hampton.
What exactly is a destination trailer?
It’s a large, park-model-style towable — typically 40 feet or longer — built for extended or seasonal stays in one location rather than frequent travel. You tow it to a site, hook it to full utilities, and leave it there. Think of it as a movable cabin rather than a road-trip RV.
Can I tow the Hampton anywhere, like a travel trailer?
You can tow it, but it’s not meant to be moved often. At 40-plus feet, the Hampton is designed to be placed once and left for the season or longer. Moving it requires a capable tow vehicle and a deliberate setup. If you want to travel frequently, a smaller travel trailer or fifth wheel is a better fit.
What kind of power and site do I need?
The Hampton requires 50-amp electrical service and a long, level pad sized for a unit this large. It also carries dual LP tanks. Many standard campsites can’t accommodate a destination trailer, so confirm your site’s length and power before you commit.
How tall are the ceilings?
Most Hampton floorplans feature 8-foot floor-to-ceiling heights. The loft models step up to 9 feet. That headroom is a big part of why the interior feels like a home rather than a camper.
What are the loft models about?
Loft layouts add a raised sleeping or hangout area and come with 9-foot ceilings. They’re popular with families and owners who host visiting kids and grandkids, since they open up extra space without expanding the footprint. The front-kitchen-plus-loft layout is one example in the lineup.
How many floorplans are there?
The current Hampton lineup includes several configurations spanning rear-kitchen, front-kitchen-with-loft, and other arrangements, with one of the newest layouts being the most recent addition. The best way to choose is to see the layouts in person and match one to how you’ll actually live in the space.
Who is the Hampton really for?
It’s for people who’ve found a place they love — a seasonal campground, a snowbird destination, a lake or coast basecamp — and want a comfortable, home-like unit to return to. It’s a fit for couples, families, and retirees who value living space over mobility and who have the site and utilities to support it.
Where can I get one?
